PRIVAT MOOSE GUIDING HELSINKI / SOUTHERN FINLAND

MOOSE

Southern Finland has plenty of beautiful suburbian nature. One of it’s most interesting mammals is moose (eurasian elk). When you go to search moose, you will often find also white-tailed deer and roe deer living in the same forests and fields.

Best time to encounter these magnificent animals is at dawn from June to September. This means waking up really early to catch morning lights and possible fog on cold mornings. Best time in the morning is an hour before and after sunrise. If we are lucky and weather conditions are optimal a beautiful fog over fields provides a wonderful opportunity for landscape shots.

Photographing is also possible at dusk, but midday is not possible because the animals are sleeping.

P.S. No guidance for locals / people living in Finland. I can’t restrict access to shooting locations, so it’s not fair to nature to spread sensitive places.
